Raising Kids With Big, Baffling Behaviors

An 8-Week Course for Caregivers

Created by Robyn Gobbel

Facilitated by Kennedy Halling, MS, CFLE, Graduate of the Big Baffling Behavior Institute

If one more person tells you to set boundaries, you might actually lose it.

You've tried the advice. You've tried the strategies. So why do the things that seem to work for other kids fall flat in your house?

You love your kid. You want to support them. But sometimes, you just don't understand why things that seem manageable for other kids feel so hard for yours.

Why does it feel like things that work in other homes don’t work in yours?

Your home just feels different; little things are big things, weekly (and sometimes, daily) communication from the school, working with provider after provider.

If you have a child enrolled in WI Children’s Long Term Support Waiver (CLTS), this is the parent education course for you and your family.

If this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.

What if we looked at behavior differently?

A lot of the advice we're given focuses on changing the behavior we can see. Use a reward system. Set a consequence. Follow through.

This isn't a behaviorist approach.

Instead, we'll explore what's happening in your child's brain and nervous system, and why connection, co-regulation, and felt safety matter.

What’s Included?

  • Prerecorded educational videos and readings

  • Up to 60 minutes of weekly, live virtual group sessions for parent education, discussion, and reflection

  • Robyn Gobbel's book, Raising Kids with Big Baffling Behaviors and The Guided Journal

  • Access to additional resources that expand learning for each module

  • Guidance from an experienced facilitator with a background in family science, trauma-informed practice, and neuroscience-informed parent education.

  • Connection with a small group of parents who understand the unique challenges of raising a complex kid

This course might be a good fit for your family if...

  • Your child has ADHD, autism, sensory differences, a trauma history, attachment challenges, and/or other brain-based differences.

  • You're raising a child whose behaviors can feel confusing, intense, or difficult to understand.

  • You’re open minded to an approach rooted in the relationship, rather than focusing on behavior management alone.

  • You’re ready to invest time and energy in understanding your child and exploring a different approach to parenting.

  • You'd appreciate connecting with other parents who understand the unique challenges of raising a complex kid.

A Peak at the Curriculum:

  • Become the Expert

    Section 1

You’ll learn the neuroscience of behavior and why your child does what they do - even when it doesn’t make sense. This reframing becomes your most powerful parenting tool!

  • Brain, Body & Sensory Tools

    Section 2

Your toolbox grows with strategies that strengthen your child’s nervous system, reduce overwhelm, and support resilience - plus how to choose the right tool for the moment.

  • Why Knowing Isn’t Enough

    Section 3

Skills matter only if you can access them in hard moments. This section grows your capacity to stay grounded and regulated while supporting your child.
